The scars may tell where we've been
But they needn't say who we are, or where we're going
Life is for living, never accept anything less
Climb out of the valley
Grieve, mourn for yourself, and move on
Therapy is about fixing something that is wrong, rather than making things which may be 'OK' better, which is the role of coaching, or playing with life and having fun, the role of inspiration and creativity.
You may have a label, a 'condition', and you (or everyone else) may regard that as what is 'wrong'. But often, this focus on the label forgets the rest of you and your life. You become your condition. I work around the bigger picture, and often there's so much that can be done to fix things in your life around the consequences of the 'condition'. ADHD, BPD, PTSD to name but a few, all have a major effect on daily living and looking at the consequential problems can make a huge difference, sometimes all the difference.
Bad experiences: accident, disaster, rape or robbery can cause loss of trust in life or people, and once it's gone, there can only be experiences afterward that reinforce the new distrusting model, as you will not trust in the first place. Therapy or coaching, it doesn't matter, what does matter is to put that model right and let you move on again. However long it takes, you need to re-establish trust, you need to feel nurture, caring support, and from there, begin to rebuild.
